A few days ago, Ashneer shared a photo to hit out at a statement that talked about his lavish lifestyle. The BharatPe co-founder shared the post to respond to his own company’s board statement. He had taken to his LinkedIn profile and shared a photo of a mattress put on the floor by his friend to show off his bed for the night. Sharing the photo, he had written a long note with it which could be read as follows:

“I am appalled by the personal nature of the BharatPe board’s statement, but not surprised. It comes from a position of personal hatred and low thinking. I think the board needs to be reminded 1 million dollars of secondary shares that investors bought from me in series C, $2.5 million in series D and $8.5 million in series E. I would also like to know who among Amarchand, PWC and A and M started auditing the ‘lavishness’ of his lifestyle.”

He had further mentioned in the caption that the only lavish thing about him was his dreams and his ability to achieve them with all his hard work and determination. He had written :

“The only thing that lavishes me are my dreams and my ability to achieve them through thick and thin through hard work and an entrepreneurial spirit. I hope the board can get back to work soon – as a shareholder, I am concerned about the destruction of value. I wish the company and the board of directors a speedy recovery. Please return to your daily duties.
