Epic Games has revealed that its Ukrainian relief donation campaign has already reached $36 million from day one. All net profits of Epic Games and Xbox from fortnite March 20 to April 3 will be dedicated to humanitarian aid due to the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

How did Fortnite raise $36 million in donations?

According to a blog post on the official Epic Games site, all real-money purchases in Fortnite during the aforementioned two-week period will be donated to four charities. This means that any proceeds from Battle Passes, Fortnite Crew, V-Buck Packs, and Cosmetic Packs – in addition to purchases from retail stores – will go into the total pool that will be donated.

This pool of money will be disbursed as quickly as possible to Direct Relief, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), UNHCR – the United Nations Refugee Agency and the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP). ). Epic Games says they will speed up the process between payments and donations:

“We do not wait for actual funds to arrive from our platform and payment partners, which can take some time depending on how the transaction was processed. As transactions are reported, we register them and send the funds to aid organizations within days.

While Fortnite’s popularity is unquestioned, it’s still shocking that Epic Games and Microsoft were able to rack up so many donations in a single day. If that’s the amount of money they get daily from Fortnite, it shows how successful the live shooter really is, with or without that Ukrainian campaign.
