Sofia Vergara is perhaps best known for her role in the hit TV series modern familybut this is the last broadcast of swimsuit pictures that’s got everyone buzzing right now.

The 49-year-old actress looks stylish in the summer in a Instagram post featuring her toned physique donning a leopard print Dolce & Gabbana swimsuit and oversized Foster Grant sunglasses. So how does the Colombian-American actress stay in top form?

A few years ago, in an interview with FoxNews, Vergara gave some advice that she lives today, at first sight. She said, “Everything in moderation. Not too much food, not too much exercise, not too much anything. Everything in moderation.”

Vergara continued, “And of course wearing sunscreen, doing the things your dermatologist tells you to do, it helps the aging process.”

Vergara avoids most carbs and tries to make her calories really count. Eating in moderation means that you don’t consume more calories than your body needs to function properly. Excess calorie consumption leads to weight gain, diabetes and heart disease, among other things. According to US Food and Drug Administrationa moderately active person aged 41 to 45 needs about 2,000 calories a day.

The USDA Dietary Guidelines encouraging Americans to adopt a healthy diet to reduce the risk of chronic diseases. They recommend eating nutrient-dense foods, sticking to calorie limits, and limiting foods and beverages with added sugars, sodium, and saturated fat. Also on the list: limit alcoholic beverages by, you guessed it, drinking in moderation.

Vergara consumes a healthy diet rich in nutritious foods. According to hollywoodzam, Vergara’s breakfast consists of yogurt with muesli, chia seeds, oats and blueberries. Lunch can include a lean protein like fish and a fresh salad. Dinner can consist of sushi, brown rice, steamed vegetables, or other lean proteins and vegetables.

For dessert? Vergara said In the style, “My biggest temptation, the thing I can’t live without, for sure, is cake. I always have to have cake in my house.” We assume that she eats it in moderation, of course!
