He explained, “I think the key is to try and restrict alcohol and caffeine late at night, as both are likely to keep you awake.
“You can mainly get protein from meat or fish, and you can get protein from legumes as well, but you have to eat a little more, which is why going on the Fast 800 with a vegetarian diet is more difficult.
“We have meal replacement shakes that are very high in protein, and we also aim to produce protein boosters, to help people who might otherwise suffer from it.
“The reason for protein is that you need it for your muscles.
“You need it for all kinds of essential metabolic processes.
“And also because when you consume it, it is digested more slowly by your body, so you don’t get the same kind of peaks.”
