It’s just flowers and chocolate for Valentine’s Day. Actually, it’s not just love and friendship either.
From singles get-togethers at a rooftop bar to romance aboard the streetcar, events celebrating – or berate – the holidays abound across the border.
Making a comeback is the El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens’ popular “Quit Bugging Me” event that allows scorned lovers to get revenge on an ex while giving back to a good cause.
Until February 10, the public can name a cockroach after their insignificant other or someone who has “annoyed” them. The cockroaches will be fed to the zoo animals on February 12 and 13 and will be streamed live on the zoo’s Facebook page.
Donations are encouraged but not required. Name your cockroach on elpasozoo.org.
